Green
That’s the idea: Green
I feel that there are a lot of possibilities with a more abstract phrase/word. Aside from the most currently common definition today (environmentally friendly) and the obvious definition (um……well, green…), several others come to mind easily:
- Sickly
- Inexperienced
- Overcome with envy
A few other associations come to mind:
- green belt
- green card
- little green men
- green thumb
- greenback
- greengrocer
- greens keeping
- green light
- green tea
Given the breadth of experience and the depth of creative talent in this class, I feel that this would be an exciting topic.
Rave Green (Sounders FC) — I’d love to do that story! I’d probably try to do a Sounders FC story for Toni’s “Seattle” or “Emerald City.”
Green Party. Energy. Money. Marijuana. Greed. Nickelodeon Gak. Incredible Hulk.
@Nicole Why does that not surprise me (about the sounders)? 🙂
I like “green” 🙂
One more comes to my mind, you guys are obssesed about recycling in this city! I love it!
Great idea! I love that this theme has both literal and abstract meanings. I think this would hang together very well as a group, visually and otherwise.
“It’s not easy being green” with apologies to Kermit the Frog – but this really has possibilities, Jeff. Wonder if it has particular significance outside of the US – Ireland, certainly, but how many national flags have green in them…and why?
This totally work, Jeff. The environment, money, Greenland… well, Greenland is probably a stretch, but you get the idea. There are so many possibilities here.
I too like that you could could literal or abstract with this topic.
One of the first things I noticed when I moved to Seattle was how “green” this city is. It’s so impressive to see how much people really care about our environment here. My local cupcake shop even has a compost so pretty much nothing goes to waste (all the more reason to eat cupcakes)!
If spread virally to our friends/family outside of Seattle, this could even be a nice little wake up call to the rest of the world that these green efforts are actually feasible.
